FEBRUARY 2012

• A packed February meeting at Barton Airfield, with 35 (ish) present and welcome to new members - Dave with a 1300, Phillip with a TR7 and Steve with his Vitesse!
• Mostly Events updates this month...
  • Oulton Park Classic Car Spectacular - 14-15 July - a new Cheshire Auto Promotions event, with track action on Saturday, classic car cavalcade around track on Sunday (£10), autojumble & trade, club & private stands, 50 Years of MGB, concours, evening disco. Camping £10/person for the weekend with access to new facilities. Free entry for display cars!
  • Event City Car Show - 24-25th March - Indoor car show at the Trafford Centre. Names and numbers have been finalised for passes & camping
  • Drive It Day - 22 April - Ideas welcome for a Sunday Run for Drive It Day 2012
  • Prescott Hill - 19-20 May 2012 - Standard Triumph Marque Day will take place at Prescott Hill Climb, Gotherington. Let Pip know if you're interested.
  • Tatton Park - 2-4 June 2012
  • Dales Run Weekend - 15-17 June 2012 - the "new look" Dales Run at Austwick near Settle. Names taken for camping, let Pip know if you're interested.
  • Area BBQ - 7-8 July - Jez & Deb will be hosting our BBQ in Kettleshulme again. Run & Rose Queen festival in the town.
  • Le Mans Classic - July 2012 - we're not attending as an area in 2012, but booking forms are now available on the TSSC website.
  • Summer Holiday - 4 August - a week in the Brecon Beacons area, either camping or cottage hire. Please let Pip know ASAP if you're interested.
  • Manchester Camping Weekend - 14-16 September - See full entry below...
  • Mile Of Triumphs - 21 September - Claire Hill has announced that the Mile Of Triumphs will take place in Great Yarmouth this year. Any interest here?
  • Robin Hood Rally will not be taking place in 2012
• Committee meeting was held for Manchester Camping Weekend.
  • Venue is Elm Cottage Touring Park near Winsford.
  • Camping is £30 per pitch for the weekend (tent or caravan, with car).
  • The Rally Barn has been booked for hosting food and ents.
  • We have volunteers for entertainment (Pete & Janet, Mark & Tracy), catering (Ler, Kerry & Debs), organising runs (Gary, Pete, Les) but still need more volunteers for marshalling, games, concours etc. etc.!!
  • Raffle prizes wanted!
  • Does anyone have a large hot-plate cooker we can borrow please??
• Lynda & Dave will be having a 40th Wedding anniversary / 65th Birthdays party at Barton Aerodrome club on 23rd Jun 2-6pm - all welcome but please let Lynda know for planning food!
• Pete & Janet have a new range of personalised T Shirts and mugs available with original artwork of your own car. Please see Pete or Janet for more information and to place your orders!

Other Club News

• Join our Facebook Group! Thanks to Mark & Tracy for setting a group up for us!
• Pip & Frank remind everyone that they're always open to comments and feedback about the club - either collar them at a meeting or give them a call in confidence!
• We have purchased brew kit, club flags and a shelter from club funds for use at events.
• Girls are invited to send in stories, pictures and anything else for a new column for the ladies in the TSSC Courier magazine!
• We have a door gap adjuster for the Club Tool Pool at a cost of £60. Usual hire charges apply to members.
• Please can all members old and new give Pip/Frank their TSSC membership number and contact details, for insurance purposes.
• If you have any unwanted gifts for Raffle Prizes Pip will take them off your hands!
• Recruitment - fliers are available to advertise the Manchester Area to other Triumph owners at events etc.
• Don't forget to make use of the members' Tool Pool and services
